Do you know what IONRACAS stands for?

Hello Readers,

I’m not sure how to start a blog but I have something I want to share. It’s all about a better way to live. I live by a few simple principles and it keeps me in line for the most part but I will be the first to say that my life is nowhere near perfect…but I can say I’m trying. Read on to hear my thoughts on the matter.

You’re probably wondering about the word Ionracas. It’s an old Scottish Gaelic word meaning integrity, faithfulness, honesty, innocence, justness, and righteousness. If you want to check it out yourself look here. http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/ionracas. When I first heard of this word and its meaning it stuck with me. I bought the domain the first chance I had but wasn’t sure what to do with it. Well I decided.

For the longest time I’ve watched people and the way they live. I see some of the old ways becoming obsolete and the ways of manners and respect being forgotten. Being proper and acting like ladies and gentlemen are rare traits. When I see fathers dumbed down on television and programs supporting teenage rebellion, I understand where the root of it comes from.

All I all, the secret to life is in the relationships you have and the memories you make. I believe it’s all about love. Yea it sounds sappy and overly poetic but it’s true.  There are a lot of people in the world. Some better off than you and some worse off, but if you were given the chance to switch lives with another random person I would be willing to bet you wouldn’t switch.

I’ve asked myself before, what is the difference between a dream and a memory and I haven’t come up with a good conclusion. They are both just memories. Then I think about the only thing I can take with me when I die. Some people don’t believe in an afterlife and some people do. For those of you that do…What can you take with you when you die? Your memories, relationships and knowledge. They are the only things truly yours.  Those are the only things that I can think of. For those of you that don’t believe in an afterlife, the only thing you have to leave behind is your legacy, or in other words, other people’s memories of you.  And if you don’t care what people think, you better hope there is no afterlife. Because if there is, there will be some restitution owing.

I’ve seen so many fads becoming popular again. People are making money hand over fist from books on Fitness, Health, Art, Business and everything else. Everything else but what Ionracas stands for. Honor, Integrity, and being faithful. When will that become more important to people? I realize there are many people who live by these standards but when will a book supporting the Ionracas values be a best seller?

I guess that is enough for one post. It’s a little all over the place but I’ll try to get better as I go. The other topics I want to cover in the next posts are Making the hard decisions, and how to handle difficult people.

Thanks for reading,
